HUNTSVILLE, Ala. & AUSTIN, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–May 25, 2016– ADTRAN®, Inc., (NASDAQ:ADTN, news, filings), a leading provider of open networking solutions, announced today it is demonstrating how its virtual Customer Premise Equipment (vCPE) delivers SDN/NFV functionality within an open, multi-vendor, multi-domain environment as part of the NFV Interoperability Demo at the Big Communications Event in Austin, Texas. This demonstration follows ADTRAN’s successful participation in the latest New IP Agency (NIA) Interoperability Showcase. Specific details can be found in its report on the NIA website or on ADTRAN’s SDN/NFV website. The purpose of this round of testing was to focus on successful interoperability of various vendors all taking different roles within NFV and service chaining whether their software implementations or server infrastructure regarding vCPE, VNFs, and orchestration.
What: Big Communications Event
When: 12:20-2:15 pm
Where: Austin, TX
Demo Location: Demo Hall, Hall 1, Level 1
The interoperability testing demo is showcasing how different virtual services from a host of different vendors can be effectively chained together to create best in breed versions of the traditional embedded solutions used in the market currently. Also being demonstrated is the ability to create agile consumer-directed services such as dynamic bandwidth or QoS policy on demand. The primary objective of the Phase 3 Interoperability Evaluation and Demo is to verify service chaining with a focus on use cases that show a combination of virtual Customer Premises Equipment (vCPE), a service chain and a software defined network (SDN). This test proved the ability to instantiate multiple vCPE instances on a range of NFVi solutions and exchange traffic on an established end-to-end tunnel controlled by an SDN controller.
