BOULDER, Colo.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–
Zayo Group Holdings, Inc. (ZAYO) today announced the expansion of its fiber-to-the-tower (FTT) footprint in San Antonio and Austin to serve an anchor wireless service provider. Zayo will extend its existing network in San Antonio and Austin by more than 700 miles to provide FTT service to more than 300 towers.
Both metropolitan markets have experienced significant recent growth across the technology, military, manufacturing, healthcare and IT service sectors. Zayo’s fiber network expansion will significantly enhance its ability to deliver high-capacity connectivity to businesses, hospitals, universities and governmental entities in the area.
“We continue to see strength in our Mobile Infrastructure solutions and plan to leverage our growing footprint to increase the yield and return on our investment over time,” said Jacob Fuller, vice president of Zayo’s Mobile Infrastructure business. “Ongoing interest from wireless service providers and a wide range of additional customers demonstrates Zayo’s strength to leverage the fiber we are building to drive additional revenue.”
With this expansion, Zayo’s FTT network will include over 8,500 macro towers nationwide (including those under construction) and continues to play a critical role in addressing wireless service providers’ needs for high-capacity communications infrastructure for macro towers and small cell nodes.
