GLOBAL CLOUD PROVIDER SELECTS ZAYO FOR US-CANADA CONNECTIVITY

Zayo to provide dark fiber and wavelengths between customer’s Canadian data center and U.S. network hubs

BOULDER, Colo. – April 20, 2016 – Zayo Group Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: ZAYO) was selected by a global cloud provider for a dark fiber and 100G wavelength solution connecting its Canadian data center diversely to key network hubs in the United States. The solution leverages Canadian fiber assets from Zayo’s recent Allstream acquisition and Zayo’s resulting unique cross-border connectivity.

The dark fiber portion of the solution provides the customer with core connectivity to its Canadian data center. The additional 100G wavelengths provides the customer with a significant upgrade from a prior 10G service and route redundancy from the dark fiber core network. As the only major operator of fiber assets in both the U.S. and Canada, Zayo is uniquely positioned to deliver cross-border dark fiber solutions. The total customer solution generates approximately $100,000 in monthly recurring revenues.

“Since the Allstream acquisition, we’ve seen significant interest in dark fiber in Canada,” said Mike Strople, managing director, Canada at Zayo. “With its recent entrance into the market, Zayo is now actively marketing dark fiber services in the major Canadian metro markets. And we are seeing measurable demand for infrastructure solutions in the early months of the integration process.”

As more enterprises transition to a distributed IT infrastructure, often leveraging public and private cloud environments, secure and diverse connectivity becomes critical. Zayo continues to benefit from the broad trend of moving IT resources outside of the traditional enterprise walls and into diverse and geographically expansive colocation and cloud facilities.
