Sprint Beats T-Mobile on Network Reliability in Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis and Nashville

Sprint’s Network Investment is Key to Continued Progress in Market-by-Market Wireless Performance

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (BUSINESS WIRE), March 04, 2016 – Sprint’s (NYSE:S, news, filings) analysis of network performance data from Nielsen, the world’s foremost authority onindependent measurement, now shows that the Sprint network in Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis and Nashville is more reliable than T-Mobile for both voice and data service.1

The analysis is based on Nielsen’s testing of wireless performance for voice and data while driving a total of more than 5,000 miles across Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis and Nashville, between August and November 2015. Nielsen’s reliability tests measure both accessibility and retainability of voice calls and data sessions. For example, it measures the ability of a voice call or download to initially connect to the network as well as maintain that network connection from start to finish.

In addition to deploying some of the most advanced technologies in wireless, Sprint has relentlessly focused on expanding and fine-tuning the network in Tennessee. In the past year, the company increased its capacity, and systematically optimized each cell site to maximize performance.

“Customers consistently tell us that they value good coverage and reliable service. We’re proud that the network investments we’re making at Sprint are paying off for consumers throughout the state of Tennessee. We’re providing better voice and data reliability than T-Mobile and every day we’re getting closer to closing the wireless performance gap with the other wireless carriers too. Wireless consumers in the state haven’t seen anything yet. So, with compelling offers like 50% off most T-Mobile and other carriers’ rate plans, it’s a great time to give our network a test drive.”

Brian S. Miller, Sprint Region President for Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia
