New Service Provides Management of International Capacity and Access to Crucial PoPs Throughout the Americas
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL–(Marketwired – Mar 15, 2016) – GlobeNet, a wholesale provider of Latin and North America data network services, announces the launch of its virtualization service. GlobeNet’s virtualization offering supports network expansion and enhancement by providing connection at critical Points of Presence (PoPs) in the Americas. The PoPs include New York and Miami in the United States, as well as Sao Paulo, Brazil; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Bogota, Colombia; and Caracas, Venezuela.
GlobeNet’s virtualization service offers network infrastructure with virtual routers located in Miami and New York allowing customers to aggregate their international capacity and manage their own connections to peering fabrics. The routers are intended to be an integral part of the customers’ networks for the delivery of their service offering. Transport services between these locations are also available as part of the offering.
Key Features of GlobeNet’s Virtualization include:
- Customer managed network architecture and capacity upgrades.
- GlobeNet provides customers with basic engineering services, management of peering connections and other NOC services while proactively monitoring the network.
- Scalable capacity.
“Carriers and ISPs need to present additional value to their customers in order to stand out in the competitive global telecommunications market,” states Erick W. Contag, President and Chief Operating Officer of GlobeNet. “Virtualization enhances any customer network by expanding it to critical global PoPs without having to invest in the deployment of a subsea fiber system or purchase expensive equipment.”
