Georgia-based Company to expand service offerings and meet growing customer demands for bandwidth intensive services
ATLANTA, GA (February 16, 2016) – Allied Fiber, the United States’ first open-access, integrated, network-neutral colocation and dark fiber superstructure, today announced a strategic agreement with Public Service Telephone Company (PSTC), a Georgia-based, full-service telecommunications company.
PSTC will tie-into the Allied Fiber route as it passes through PSTC’s service territory in the vicinity of Macon and Forsyth, GA and establish a presence at Colo Atl at 55 Marietta Street in Atlanta. By terminating at Allied Fiber’s presence in the Colo Atl Meet Me Room, PSTC will have direct access to the largest content providers in the Southeast.
Working with Allied Fiber also gives PSTC the flexibility to pursue robust opportunities and forge collaborative agreements with even the most demanding business customers. PSTC will use two fiber strands and leverage Allied Fiber’s Southeast Network over the life of the 20-year term to:
- Meet its customers’ current and future demands for more efficient service offerings
- Gain lower cost of bandwidth
- Easily scale to meet future bandwidth needs
- Reduce latency
- Provide redundancy as the company expands its network footprint
- Sell new direct connect services to its customers who need direct physical connections to Allied Fiber’s colocation facilities
“Our agreement with PSTC is another step forward in Allied Fiber’s strategy to provide a neutral colocation and dark fiber thoroughfare for network providers throughout the United States,” said Hunter Newby, CEO of Allied Fiber. “We’re confident our collaboration will bring significant economic benefits and new jobs to Georgia’s local communities.”
