London, February 01, 2016 – Easynet, an Interoute company, has been awarded a place on the newest iteration of the UK Government’s G-Cloud framework, which will help it to deliver high-quality cloud services to Public Sector organisations across the UK.
G-Cloud 7 is the latest stage of the Government’s plans to create a digital marketplace; it provides an online catalogue from which public bodies are able to select approved IT services in a simple and cost-effective manner. Users of the platform can choose options from four categories, or ‘lots’; Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Specialist Cloud Services (SCS).
Although Easynet had previously participated in G-Cloud 4 on a smaller scale, this marks the first time the company has committed substantial resources to the platform, with more than two dozen products on offer across the various lots.
This will enable Public Sector organisations to take advantage of Easynet’s high-quality, value-for-money solutions which can either be selected as off-the-shelf products or customised to meet their exact needs.
Philip Grannum, UK Managing Director at Easynet, comments: “As a key provider to the Public Sector, it’s important for us to be part of this framework, enabling us to deliver our wide portfolio of services as easily as possible.
“After going through six previous versions, G-Cloud has achieved familiarity and buy-in from the market. Frameworks such as G-Cloud 7, underpin the ‘Government-as-a-Platform’ principle of having common tools and technology services available consistently across the Public Sector, helping bodies secure high quality service and value for money.”
Easynet is both a cloud and PSN Distribution Network Service Provider (DNSP), ensuring that organisations selecting Easynet from the digital marketplace will be able to join up with a single partner to take advantage of both the cloud services themselves and the high-quality connectivity that is required to access them.
Easynet already provides top-of-the-line “Official” and “Official Sensitive” (formerly classed as IL2 and IL3) accredited security solutions and can therefore offer this level of capability, security and data-management across a range of cloud services – something that is particularly important to public sector bodies.
Grannum goes on to say: “It is imperative that organisations moving their operations from a traditional in-house environment to a cloud platform have their data protected to the same secure level as an on-premises service. Easynet’s accredited solutions can deliver these reassurances and give users peace of mind.”
Easynet is one of a select number of networking and communication service providers appointed by the Crown Commercial Service (CCS), the UK Government’s procurement service, to its Network Service Framework. It has established relationships with key vendors, government bodies and industry standard accreditors and operates to a number of recognised industry standards, including ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001, ISO20000 and ISO27001.
