Windstream Expands VoIP Solutions and Unified Communications as a Service to Four West Texas Markets

Enterprise-class solutions available in Abilene, Amarillo, Lubbock, and Midland-Odessa

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.,—Windstream (NYSE:WIN, news, filings), a leading provider of advanced network and cloud solutions, is the new face of telecommunications in West Texas. The company is now offering its full portfolio of enterprise-class voice and data center solutions – including its Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) products and Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) – to mid-size and enterprise businesses in four new markets, Abilene, Amarillo, Lubbock, and Midland-Odessa.

The expansion brings much-needed competition to the market and new technology solutions to enterprise businesses across a variety of industries, including oil and gas, education, agriculture, retail, medical and financial. Organizations with multiple locations will benefit from end-to-end, unified solutions that seamlessly tie branches together, including Windstream’s award-winning UCaaS, which was named 2015 UC Product of the Year by TMC. By infusing these new solutions into the region – along with existing services such as a robust Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) network and Managed Network Security – Windstream is a strong, affordable alternative to the incumbent service provider.

“Our goal is to be the enterprise service provider of choice across the country, and in particular West Texas,” said Edward Hernandez, regional sales director for Windstream. “This region was in need of an alternate communications provider to drive competitive pricing and offer quality solutions. Windstream has a growing presence in Texas and by expanding coverage into these cities, our expert team will be able to foster positive relationships with customers and meet their unique business needs.”

Other available managed solutions, such as Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS), will meet the critical demand for business continuity and disaster recovery options in this area due to unpredictable weather events.

Windstream’s Equipment for Services (EFS) program is another unique offering to West Texas business customers, providing an affordable option to lease or finance the latest equipment technology solutions without an upfront investment, allowing them to move capital costs to operational expenses.

“Customers in the West Texas region may not be aware that Windstream offers much more than traditional telecom services,” said Kenneth Gilbert, Windstream’s vice president of business sales for its west region. “We have a deep portfolio of robust solutions ranging from cloud to carrier-grade Ethernet and advanced network security. Businesses ranging from the oil industry to hospital systems will be able to deploy converged networks, seamlessly integrating all their voice and data needs with a single provider. We look forward to building and strengthening lasting partnerships with even more business customers in the great state of Texas.”
