Sprint Network Shares #1 Ranking in Reliability and Call in Washington D.C.

With 50% off competitors’ rate plans, it’s a great time to switch to Sprint

WASHINGTON (BUSINESS WIRE), December 21, 2015 – Independent mobile analytics firm RootMetrics® has released a new RootScore® Report showing Sprint has received a shared #1 ranking in network reliability and call performance in Washington D.C.

This is the first time Sprint has received a RootScore Award in Washington D.C. for network reliability. And this is the first time Sprint has received a RootScore Award in Washington D.C. for call performance since January 2012.

“We’re proud to give our nation’s capital a network it can count on,” said Scott Santi, regional vice president of network at Sprint. “As one of the most reliable networks in D.C. with top-ranked call performance, our customers know we’ll keep them connected when and where they need us. And now with 50% off the competition, it’s a great time for new customers to give our network a try.”

A Top-Ranked Network in Washington D.C.

RootMetrics drove a total of 1,810 miles and conducted 38,266 tests in Washington D.C. During testing RootMetrics was able to experience many of Sprint’s enhancements to its network.

In the past year, the company added new cell sites and increased its coverage and capacity across all three of its spectrum bands – 1.9GHz for broad coverage, 800MHz for better indoor service, and 2.5GHz for faster data speeds. Sprint’s network team then systematically optimized each cell site to maximize overall performance, coverage, capacity and speed.

In addition, Sprint has improved service and upgraded the wireless systems at Verizon Center, Washington Dulles Airport, Raegan National Airport, United State Senate and Capital Buildings, House of Representatives, Smithsonian Museum Complex at National Mall, Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Future upgrades are in progress at Nationals Park, WMATA, and the Fashion Centre Mall at Pentagon City.

Washington D.C., Switch to Sprint and Save 50%

Consumers switching to Sprint can take advantage of the biggest wireless offer in U.S. history – 50 percent off the price of most Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile rate plans.1 Customers who switch get 50 percent off most current rate plan prices from their current carrier. And, Sprint will pay switching fees up to $650 per line via an American Express® Reward Card after online registration and phone turn-in.2
