Kevin Crull is appointed president of the Central Area and Roger Solé is appointed chief marketing officer, effective immediately. Both Crull and Solé will report to Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure.

“Our ONE Sprint initiative will place us closer to our customers and allow our company to provide them with a much better experience. Our success requires putting in place the best, most experienced leaders and Kevin is the right person for this important job.

“Since joining Sprint, Kevin has guided some of our most important initiatives, designing and launching innovative and disruptive programs that have been resonating positively with customers and are fueling our growth. In addition to his marketing expertise, he brings broad management and operational expertise that will be vital to success in this newly created role.

“Since Roger joined our team here at Sprint, he has been integrally involved in shaping many of our key acquisition initiatives that have helped drive the growing momentum we are now enjoying. Roger has increased our ability to serve Hispanic customers and has spurred innovation across the organization. He has exceptional abilities to connect with consumers and I’m confident that he will ensure Sprint is recognized for the differentiated value we offer in the market.

“We have built a tremendous executive management team at Sprint, and it’s a sign of our strength that we are able to fill these two roles that will be so influential in guiding our company’s success by promoting two enormously talented individuals already at Sprint.”

Marcelo Claure, Sprint CEO

In his new role, Crull will be responsible for sales strategy and execution, network oversight, customer service, marketing communications and general operations supporting the full portfolio of Sprint products and services from enterprise to consumer across 14 Central states and West Pennsylvania.

Crull’s appointment follows Sprint’s announcement that it will restructure the company into four geographic areas – West, Central, Northeast and South – with targeted resources devoted to 19 top markets, including Chicago, Indianapolis, Kansas City and Minneapolis in the Central Region. Under Crull’s leadership the company will develop market-specific offerings serving the unique local needs of consumer and business customers.

The Central geographic area covers Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, West Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Wisconsin. It encompasses more than 533 company-owned or Sprint-branded retail stores.

Since joining the company as chief marketing officer in May 2015, Crull has launched several successful consumer offers, including All-In, Direct 2 You, iPhone Forever, and the 50% off campaign.

Prior to Sprint, Crull served as president of Bell Media in Canada, the largest broadcast and media enterprise in the country delivering television, radio, outdoor, and digital media. Before Bell Media, Crull served as president of the Bell Residential Services organization, Canada’s largest consumer telecommunications company, providing high-speed broadband, home phone, and satellite and fiber television service.

“Our new regional structure ensures that Sprint will be able to better connect with our customers and our front line associates so we can deliver even more competitive offers through a localized approach. I look forward to focusing on the Central region, including Kansas City – Sprint’s hometown. ”

Kevin Crull, Area President, Central Region

In his new role as chief marketing officer, Solé will be responsible for all products and services, brand and advertising, customer acquisition and retention, and all digital and social efforts. Solé will be a vital contributor to Sprint’s leadership team, charged with attracting new customers and advancing the company’s push for greater innovation.

Currently, Solé is senior vice president, advertising and acquisition, Hispanic market, innovation, and president of Puerto Rico. In this role, he is responsible for creating products and services that allow Sprint to offer a unique, differentiated value proposition. He also oversees Pinsight Media, a Sprint division that specializes in mobile advertising, and the Sprint Accelerator, a mentorship-driven program for startups.

Since joining the company, Solé launched innovative programs including Switch and Save 50%, the $1 iPhone promotion and Sprint Open World, that allows Sprint customers to roam for free in most countries in Latin America. He also led the creation of the new Sprint brand identity and tagline #MoveForward and developed a campaign with former Sprint employee Prince Royce to help the company better connect and engage with Hispanic customers.

Prior to joining Sprint, Solé was chief marketing officer of TIM Brasil – Telecom Italia’s mobile carrier in Brazil. While at TIM Brasil, Solé delivered creative and innovative approaches that connected with consumers and drove strong growth for the company. Prior to TIM Brasil, Roger spent six years at Vivo (Telefonica Brasil)—the largest operator in Brazil.

“I am truly honored and excited to take on this new role. We have such an incredible opportunity to create a brand platform that is immediately recognizable and that reinforces our values and our promise to our customers. Our new LTE Plus Network is getting better and faster every day and we are the undisputed price leader in the marketplace. Our job is to ensure consumers’ perceptions match the realities and I’m all in. I am looking forward to building on the great work the team has underway and taking our efforts to the next level.”
