OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (BUSINESS WIRE), December 17, 2015 – Brian Hedlund has been named Sprint (NYSE:S, news, filings) president of the Washington, D.C. Baltimore and Virginia Region. Based in Reston, Va., he will be responsible for sales strategy, network oversight, customer service, marketing communications and general operations supporting the full portfolio of Sprint products and services from enterprise to consumer. Hedlund will remain in his current position as director, general business sales for Sprint until the new regional structure is completely rolled out next year.

Hedlund’s appointment follows Sprint’s announcement that it will restructure the company into four geographic areas – West, Central, Northeast and South – with targeted resources devoted to 19 top markets, including Washington, D.C., Baltimore and Virginia. Under Hedlund’s leadership the company will develop market-specific offerings serving the unique local needs of consumer and business customers.

The Northeast geographic area covers Delaware, Eastern Pennsylvania, Maryland, New England, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. It encompasses more than 980 company-owned or Sprint-branded retail stores.

Hedlund previously served as director of Business Sales for the Mid-Atlantic Area at Sprint. He has also had experience with multi-channel sales, retail store expansion and customer service initiatives, as well as supporting sales and marketing teams in local markets.
