Zayo to connect Colorado facilities and enable advanced delivery of healthcare
BOULDER, Colo.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Zayo Group Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: ZAYO) today announced that UCHealth, a Front Range health system that delivers the highest quality patient care with the highest quality patient experience, has selected Zayo to provide comprehensive network and infrastructure services, including colocation and dark fiber, that will enable UCHealth to implement next generation healthcare technologies. The network will enable the most technologically advanced delivery of healthcare, including real-time, high-definition (HD) medicine.
The partnership will also increase UCHealth’s capacity to send, retrieve and store massive amounts of electronic health record information and imagery quickly, easily and securely.
Healthcare is experiencing unprecedented demand for bandwidth and high-performance, secure, reliable connectivity and infrastructure. Increasingly, the industry is also relying on telemedicine and collaborative solutions that enable remote evaluation, diagnosis and treatment.
“Zayo is the optimal provider to meet UCHealth’s needs for high-performance, private, secure connectivity and infrastructure,” said Dennis Kyle, senior vice president of strategic market and business development at Zayo. “Our network is expected to provide 40 times the bandwidth of UCHealth’s current network, enabling advanced services, including video and imaging transfer.”
“UCHealth is focused on providing the very best care, close to home, for our patients throughout the region. An innovative network with capacity and scalability to enable advanced telemedicine capabilities is key to this success,” said Steve Hess, UCHealth Chief Information Officer. “Patients in all areas of Colorado, southern Wyoming and western Nebraska will benefit from our increasingly wired hospital system.”
Zayo is partnering with Cisco on a key element of the high-capacity regional network.
