SHAW BUSINESS LAUNCHES BROADSOFT-POWERED BUSINESS UC OFFERING

Western Canada’s leading communications provider leverages BroadSoft’s UC-One to deliver unified communications and advanced voice features to business customers

GAITHERSBURG, Md. And El Dorado Hills, Ca., November 4th, 2015 – BroadSoft, Inc. (NASDAQ:BSFT, news, filings) today announced that Shaw Communications, Inc. (NYSE: SJR), Western Canada’s leading network and content experience company, has launched SmartVoice, a BroadWorks-powered unified communications (UC) solution that gives Shaw Business’ small-medium business (SMB) customers a scalable UC solution to meet their needs as they grow.

With a broad range of telephony and UC services, including instant messaging and presence, video calling, desktop sharing, and advanced voice features, Shaw Business’ SmartVoice leverages BroadSoft’s UC-One® platform to give SMB clients a seamless, cloud-based solution that allows them to focus on growing their business and increasing productivity, rather than on managing their voice solution. “As a trusted small-medium business advisor, we are able to now offer clients a highly functional UC solution based on a platform that works flawlessly both in and out of the office,” said Ron McKenzie, senior vice president, Shaw Business. “Our work with BroadSoft was instrumental in the success of our SmartVoice product launch, and we look forward to building on this relationship to bring new offerings to market in the future.”

Existing and prospective Shaw Business customers can now gain access to a full unified communications portfolio that enhances productivity for the increasingly mobile workforce by making unified communications available on a single device.

SmartVoice Key UC and advanced voice features include:

Instant messaging and presence
Instant multi-party conference calling
Desktop sharing
Video calling
Call pull
Do not disturb call features
On hold messaging
Voicemail to email
Network based preferences
Add-on features: Meet me conferencing, auto attendant, and reception console
“Through UC-One, forward-thinking service providers, such as Shaw, can seamlessly and rapidly extend business offerings beyond telephony and hosted PBX services to a set of innovative UC services that empower employees to work smarter,” said Alan Lieff, vice president, sales, Canada, BroadSoft. “We believe that Shaw Business’ customers are now poised to unlock productivity gains that can result from empowering mobile workers to communicate and collaborate from any location, at any time, using any device.”
