Level 3’s Internet, Security, Video and IP Telephony Services Provided at Economic Organizations’ Annual Meetings LIMA 2015

LIMA, Peru, Oct. 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — In response to a request for a proposal, Level 3 Communications, Inc., (NYSE:LVLT, news, filings) provided communications services for the Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund which were co-organized with the Peruvian Government in Lima, Peru from October 5 through October 12, 2015.

The annual meetings are a significant international event for dialogue and discussion about the global economy and finance, development issues and economic growth policies. More than 10,000 attendees from 188 countries gathered for these meetings, including World Organizations’ presidents; finance and development ministers; Central Banks’ presidents, multilateral organizations; top executives of the private sector and members of the academia.

As part of the annual meetings the following services from Level 3’s global product portfolio were provided:

  • High-capacity, Secure Internet Services – Attendees had access to IP communications via mobile phones, tablets, laptops and other devices. The services enabled video recordings and photographs, among other materials, to be sent in real-time by domestic and international media to their information hubs.
  • Managed Security Solutions – Level 3’s security experts monitored the network to mitigate potential Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks.
  • International Connectivity for Data Transmission – Level 3 connected the event in Lima with organization headquarters in Washington D.C., establishing communication among the different service platforms, networks and applications.
  • Vyvx Platform – Level 3 used its Vyvx platform to stream live, High Definition video directly from Lima to the World Bank’s and International Monetary Fund’s headquarters in Washington DC.
  • International IP Telephony – Level 3 used its global footprint to deliver voice services to attendees’ onsite.
