Great Plains Communications announces their fourth 2015 Network Expansion, a Diverse Route from Nebraska to Iowa

October 8, 2015 (Blair, Neb.) – Great Plains Communications, owner and operator of the largest fiber network and the largest privately owned telecommunications company in Nebraska is pleased to announce the addition of a diverse network route expansion from Nebraska to Des Moines, Iowa.

“We are proud to be expanding our fiber footprint yet again by entering into the Iowa market,” said Lynn Mead, Head of Carrier and Wholesale Services. “This latest expansion gives us the ability to serve new customers and provides greater opportunity for our current clients to broaden their business as well.”

The Des Moines route will provide capability ranging from low-end Ethernet to 100 Gig both within market and throughout the Plains Region. The route will extend from the Nebraska market into the Des Moines carrier hotel, connecting with regional and national carriers. The Iowa expansion along with the entire 5,000+ mile Great Plains Communications network is monitored around the clock by the company’s Network Operations Center, which recently became the first Tier III Organization to become fully TL9000-certified.
