GlobeNet Expands its Network Reach to São Paulo

The addition of a Point of Presence in São Paulo enables enhanced international connectivity options for customers

Fort Lauderdale, FL – October 27, 2015 GlobeNet, a wholesale provider of Latin and North America data network services, announces the expansion of its network to a new Point of Presence (PoP) in the Equinix Datacenter in São Paulo (SP2). The PoP allows GlobeNet to extend its layer 2 and layer 3 based services into the key Brazilian metro market and beyond.

The PoP in São Paulo’s SP2 will deliver Ethernet and IP services, including GNIIX, the newest service addition to GlobeNet’s robust portfolio of offerings. GlobeNet’s GNIIX and IP Transit offerings out of the key city enhance customers’ secure, low latency international connectivity options to the Americas and Europe. This connectivity will play a key role in the upcoming 2016 Olympic Games, which are expected to draw hundreds of millions of viewers from around the world. Global broadcast networks will require reliable transport to and from Brazil in order to meet viewer demand and will rely on the connectivity provided by reliable, high capacity networks.

“GlobeNet has been deeply rooted in Brazil since inception and as such, our dedication to providing the carriers and service providers with reliable and secure low latency transport services to Brazil and across the Americas is of the utmost importance,” states Erick W. Contag, President and Chief Operating Officer of GlobeNet. “GlobeNet’s new presence enables us to enhance the connectivity options and reach of our customers via our new GNIIX service, as well as our full suite of transport solutions. GlobeNet currently has the largest on-net capillarity in Brazil and the addition of SP2 to our network furthers our commitment to growing the international connectivity options within the country.”
