WANRack Enters Texas Market with Successful Completion of Fiber Optic Wide Area Network

Multi-Year Agreement Provides Lit Fiber Services over a Private Fiber WAN for Edcouch-Elsa Schools

Lenexa, KS(September 9, 2015) – WANRack today announced their expansion into Texas with the completion of a Private Fiber Optic Wide Area Network (WAN) for the Edcouch-Elsa Independent School District.

“Edcouch-Elsa was looking for an alternative to their legacy GigaMAN® network. They needed a fiber WAN that could meet their current needs and seamlessly upgrade to 10G in the very near future. WANRack was able to do all this with our Private Fiber WAN at a lower cost,” said Gerardo Garza, WANRack’s CEO. “With bandwidth needs increasing 30-50% per year, schools will outgrow their current 1G links and need 10G speeds to keep up. Our Private Fiber WAN solution is perfect for this bandwidth boom while helping schools avoid costly bandwidth upgrade surcharges.”

WANRack specializes in providing Fiber Optic WANs to K-12 school districts nationwide. Their Dark Fiber and Lit Fiber solutions provide superior bandwidth, scalability, and security than traditional cable or telephone company offerings due to their unique design model. Districts realize ROI in both the short and long term.

“Although we already had 1G links from the telco, we immediately saw a marked increase in performance when we switched to WANRack lit fiber. The performance benefits of having our own dedicated fiber via a Private WAN are now very clear,” said Jose Torres, Director of IT for Edcouch-Elsa ISD. “We are delighted to have selected WANRack. It is rare to find a fiber company which provides superior service at less cost with unlimited growth.”
