By: Mark Elliott

The ultrathin Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 goes on sale Thursday, Sept. 3, at Sprint. When connected to the Sprint 4G LTE network, Galaxy Tab S2 allows you to surf the Web using a network built for high-speed data.

Available in direct ship sales channels, including Sprint Stores, Web Sales, Telesales at 1-800-SPRINT1 and Sprint Business Sales, Galaxy Tab S2 is available three ways:

  1. With Sprint Easy PaySM, well-qualified buyers can get Galaxy Tab S2 with $0 down (plus tax) and 24 monthly payments of $27.1
  2. Two-year service agreement for $548.
  3. Full price (without an annual contract) for $648.
    (All pricing excludes tax.)

It’s 15 percent lighter and fully 16 percent thinner than its predecessor first generation Galaxy Tab S, making it the ideal travel companion. Featuring a beautiful metal finish, Galaxy Tab S2 weighs 13.12 ounces (392 grams) and measures 6.65 x 9.34 x 0.22 inches (169 x 237.3 x 5.6 mm).

Built on Android™ 5.1, Lollipop, Galaxy Tab S2 offers a 9.7-inch Super AMOLED™ touchscreen display with 2,048 x 1,536 resolution. This provides a bright and more dynamic viewing experience with rich colors and a crisp picture. It boasts an adaptive display that changes based on lighting conditions to provide an optimal experience when reading a book, watching a movie or surfing the Web.

Powered by a Samsung Exynos 5433 octa-core (quad 1.9GHz + quad 1.3GHz) application processor, Galaxy Tab S2 lets you surf the Web, play high-definition movies and navigate between applications quickly and easily.

Galaxy Tab S2 offers two cameras for capturing life’s most important moments. The rear-facing, 8-megapixel camera includes autofocus, 4x digital zoom and a F1.9 lens to take high-quality photos in low-light conditions. The front-facing, 2.1-megapixel camera is perfect for video chat with the family while traveling.

For the performance minded, Galaxy Tab S2 boosts productivity with SideSync 4.0, offering seamless PC-tablet integration across devices. This enables the user to share photos and documents with most PCs and Macs with a simple drag-and-drop.

Additional key features include:

  • 5,870mAh lithium-ion battery
  • 32GB memory2 and microSD™ card slot supporting up to 128GB memory card (sold separately)
  • Mobile hotspot supporting up to 10 users simultaneously
  • Wi-Fi® a/b/g/n/ac
  • Bluetooth 4.1®

Galaxy Tab S2 can be activated on one of the individual tablet data plans from Sprint starting as low as $10/month. Plans include on-network data as follows: 100MB for $10, 1GB for $15, 3GB for $35, 6GB for $50, 12GB for $80, and 30GB for $110.

You can use the data on your plan the way you want—on the tablet itself or through the tablet’s mobile hotspot functionality at no extra charge (requires mobile hotspot-capable tablet). Customers are able to view their data usage by logging into My Sprint at www.sprint.com.

Galaxy Tab S2 can also be added to a Sprint Family Share Pack with a $10/month access charge per line. For a limited time, if you sign up for the Sprint $100/10GB or $120/40GB Family Share Pack, Sprint will waive the access charge (up to four lines) as long as you stay on the plan. (Some restrictions apply. See www.sprint.com for details.)
