Lima, Peru, September 22, 2015 - IFB Certus, a leading technical educational institution, selected global telecommunications provider Level 3 Communications, Inc. (NYSE:LVLT, news, filings) for its IT and telecom needs. Using Level 3’s solutions as a catalyst for emerging technologies on its campus, IFB Certus believes it will be the first Peruvian education institution to implement this type of advanced technology solution and model.

Level 3 will provide:

  • Internet access

“With more than 20 years of presence in Peru and locations in Lima, Arequipa and Chiclayo, our strategic growth objectives led us to establish an alliance with this dynamic, flexible company,” said Omar Lira, assistant director of information technology for IFB Certus. “Level 3 focuses on its customers’ developmental needs, offering us the know-how and experience to implement a new data network. We are the first Peruvian educational institution to implement this type of advanced technology solution and model.”

“This opportunity allows us to demonstrate how Level 3’s portfolio, flexible offerings and adaptable technology services can provide a competitive advantage to institutions as they look to position themselves as educational resources with access to cutting-edge technology,” said Gianni Hanawa, commercial director for Level 3 in Peru. “The company’s data also is being managed from Level 3’s Data Center in Lima, which provides business continuity and disaster recovery operations for the organization.”
