BOULDER, Colo. – August 7, 2015 – Zayo Group Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:ZAYO) employees know how to dig deep to complete complex, time-sensitive projects to meet customers’ bandwidth infrastructure needs. Now they’re gearing up for a different kind of challenge.
This Saturday, August 8, more than 110 Zayo employees, family members and customers will jump on their bikes for the B Strong Ride, a Boulder-based fundraiser for cancer care. Routes include a 69-mile mountain loop up Lefthand Canyon – with its renowned 12 percent kicker into Ward – and a more relaxed 24-mile countryside loop. Kids are also participating in the Mini B, riding one mile around the grounds of Celestial Seasonings, host of this year’s event.
The Zayo team has raised $40,000 to celebrate cancer survivorship and support the George Karl Foundation and the Boulder Community Health’s Center for Integrative Care. The Caruso Family Foundation, established by Zayo’s Chairman and CEO Dan Caruso and wife Cindy, is a platinum sponsor of the event. The foundation’s mission is to inspire and support entrepreneurship, advance knowledge and empower healthier lives.
“We’re looking forward to a great day for a cause that is personally important to many of us,” said Caruso. “Thanks to our employees and their families, Zayo has a record number of supporters riding, volunteering and contributing to B Strong in our fifth year with the event.”
“Zayo’s participation and support, which has increased every year since the event’s inception, is tremendously inspiring,” said Paul Balaguer, B Strong Ride director. “Our focus is to ensure that the funds raised provide holistic support for the cancer journey, including prevention, treatment and recovery.”
In addition to funding George Karl Foundation programs, the B Strong Ride funds a full year of care at the Boulder Community Health’s Center for Integrative Care.
