CenturyLink will provide managed, IP-based voice service for nearly 48,000 users at more than 400 locations on behalf of Texas’s largest state agency
MONROE, La., Aug. 31, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — CenturyLink, Inc. CTL, +0.00% today announced that it was awarded a contract by the State of Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to provide managed IP-based voice service for the agency’s more than 400 statewide locations.
Using a hybrid IT approach that leverages technology already owned by HHSC alongside new CenturyLink services, CenturyLink will provide ongoing management of the agency’s existing phone infrastructure, which includes some IP-based phone systems and some legacy analog phone systems. CenturyLink will migrate users of an analog phone system to CenturyLink’s Managed Enterprise: Hosted Collaboration Solution, a VoIP and unified communications platform that is hosted in the cloud.
“Managed VoIP services from CenturyLink are focused on helping customers improve their organizational agility using the latest technology while at the same time controlling IT spending with our transparent and predictable pricing model,” said Kenny Wyatt, senior vice president of business solutions, CenturyLink. “We look forward to delivering a simplified user experience as well as improved efficiency and collaboration with this voice solution for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.”
Texas HHSC employees will have access to advanced voice calling features as well as unified communications (UC) applications. To support an increasingly mobile workforce, CenturyLink will provide UC tools to HHSC that can allow employees to access messaging and calling features from multiple devices, even while working remotely.
