Denver, CO – August 19, 2015 – ViaWest, a leading hybrid colocation provider in North America, announces that American Residential Services (ARS), a top provider of heating, air conditioning and plumbing services, has selected ViaWest as its cloud and colocation services provider. By moving to a hybrid solution, ARS has been able to mitigate risk while freeing up its IT team to focus on efficiencies that drive value to the business.
ARS/Rescue Rooter operates a network of more than 60 company-operated, locally managed service locations spanning 22 states with 5,000 employees. The company was faced with the decision to upgrade or consolidate its existing legacy data center, located in the hurricane-prone Houston area.
Through its hybrid IT solution from ViaWest, ARS was able to consolidate its colocation space into a smaller footprint and move into a ViaWest data center, while migrating many of its applications and workloads into ViaWest’s cloud. In addition, the move to a hybrid solution helps ARS continue to leverage its existing hardware investment at the data center while simultaneously reducing the risk posed by natural disasters.
ViaWest worked in conjunction with CDW, one of its key channel partners, on this project.
“ViaWest helped us understand how a migration to cloud services could relieve the pressures of maintaining an older data center and how we could manage differing workloads with agility and scale,” said Kevin Worley, chief information officer & vice president of IT at ARS. “What sets ViaWest apart from other providers is the team and their culture. They treat our business as their own, and we are continually impressed by the engagement of their account team, their technical expertise, flexibility and responsiveness. The bottom line is that we trust ViaWest.”
“We are excited to partner with ARS on creating a truly hybrid IT solution,” said Tom Myers, ViaWest regional vice president of the Texas region. “We look forward to serving ARS through a long-term strategic partnership that supports their future goals.”
ViaWest’s hybrid IT solutions allow customers to combine traditional colocation services with cloud computing to create powerful, flexible solutions that best fit their specific IT needs. With 29 data centers in North America and a broad product portfolio of managed services, compliance and security solutions and enterprise-class cloud solutions, ViaWest works with companies of all sizes.
