TelePacific Communications announces the promotion of long-time industry leader Peter Berns to the newly created position of Director of Datacenter Operations. Berns had been the key technical subject matter expert for the provider’s datacenter efforts. In his expanded role, he is responsible for all product strategy, pricing, sales support and data center operations, which includes service delivery and post installation support for this rapidly growing core area of TelePacific’s business.
TelePacific’s focus on the 3Cs of Connect, Cloud and Continuity regularly puts colocation at its SSAE-16 and carrier-grade datacenters at the center of integrated solutions to business customer needs. As companies increasingly see their most critical operations, customer relationships and bottom lines dependent on anytime, anywhere access to their information, the seamless integration of datacenters with the Ethernet ecosystem of TelePacific’s many types of networks creates a compelling option for the business customers the Company serves.
“I’ve been working at the intersection of datacenters and networks for my entire career” Berns explains. “That nexus is driving the current evolution of communications. It’s tremendously satisfying to have the opportunity to help shape how those two elements function here at TelePacific because they are totally integrated together. We’re supercharging their change from commodities to essential utilities that underpin critical business continuity solutions and enable the next step in the evolution of the Cloud.”
Berns brings more than 26 years of datacenter and network integration leadership to his new role. He founded and was the CEO of segment pioneering colo.com/Colomotion in Silicon Valley during the late ’90s. He’s since held multiple telecom executive positions and is frequently called on to serve as an industry analyst, expert and speaker.
Berns works out of TelePacific’s Walnut Creek office. He can be reached at 855-333-8722, pberns@telepacific.com.
