Huawei and Bavaria collaborate on developing the state’s digital economy

[Shenzhen, July 29, 2015] Huawei Executive Director and President of Products & Solutions Ryan Ding recently met with Ilse Aigner, Deputy Minister-President of Bavaria and Bavarian Minister for Economic Affairs at Huawei’s headquarters in Shenzhen.

“Huawei has being innovating and contributing greatly in areas such as communications and Industry 4.0. The company is also an excellent partner for Bavaria,” remarked Aigner. “I believe that this project will increase mutual trust and partnerships between the two parties. I also hope that through my efforts, both parties will work more closely to help Bavaria address the challenges of digitization.”

Ding commented, “Huawei greatly appreciates the strong innovation and investment environment in Bavaria. We are dedicated to building partnerships with local industry players and hope that this visit will increase cooperation between the two parties. We will then contribute more to building Bavaria’s digital economy.”

The Bavarian government places a high priority on the ICT sector. Headquartered in Munich, Bavaria, Huawei’s European R&D Center – in parallel with its other R&D facilities across the globe – serves the global market with the best resources. Huawei has collaborated on R&D projects with nearly 20 universities and research institutes, including the Technical University of Munich, and entered partnerships with customers and partners such as Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom, SAP, and Siemens.
