Arvig Acquires North Star Fiber

(Perham, MN, July 16, 2015) – Arvig Enterprises, (dba Arvig) announced today the establishment of a partnership with North Star Fiber, a new Twin Cities-based venture specializing in bringing gigabit services to multi-dwelling unit buildings (MDUs).

“Our partnership with North Star Fiber adds a new dimension to the broadband services we provide to customers throughout the state of Minnesota,” said David Arvig, Vice President/Chief Operating Officer of Arvig. “Our metro-area fiber network was built to provide global connectivity to the businesses located in the Twin Cities, St. Cloud and Rochester; and North Star takes that connection to the people who reside in local MDU communities.”

“We work with a wide variety of MDU communities from new construction to decades-old buildings,” said Dustin Evenson, North Star Fiber Founder. “In fact, we’ve already partnered with the owners of a several Twin Cities buildings; and we’re in the process of installing service in 2,000 units with another 3,000 planned by the end of the year. Residents in these buildings will have access to Gigabit speeds with packages starting at just $40 per month for 50Mbps symmetrical service with no hidden fees.”

“We encourage apartment and condo residents in the Twin Cities, St. Cloud and Rochester areas to register at www.iwantfiber.com so we can start working with their buildings as well. Evenson continued, “MDU building owners and managers in the Twin Cities, St. Cloud and Rochester should also register to have their properties considered for installation of Gigabit service.”

“The partnership between Arvig and North Star is a natural fit, with Arvig bringing the fiber to the buildings and North Star managing the building’s broadband infrastructure and resident connectivity.” said Chase Rydberg, North Star Fiber Founder.

Arvig is the largest independent telecommunications provider in the state of Minnesota. In addition to broadband services, Arvig also provides security and home automation, business telephone systems, managed IT services and a wide variety of other services.
