Promedon Selects Level 3 to Connect its Medical Branches Around the World with Video Conferencing Services

MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY PROVIDER LEVERAGES A LOCAL SOLUTION FOR INTEROFFICE COMMUNICATIONS

Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA, June 22, 2015 – Level 3 Communications (NYSE:LVLT, news, filings) announced a new contract with Promedon, a leading medical researcher and provider of innovative medical technology, for its Enhanced Video Collaboration Solution. This new product, developed in Latin America by Level 3, offers enterprise video conferencing solutions that are accessible from any location through multiple devices and can be accessed from both private and public networks.

Promedon is expanding into new locations and needed a way to accelerate the flow of business information between offices. Level 3 will provide Promedon connectivity services and high definition video conferencing between its various locations to improve productivity and interoffice communications. Promedon is using the solution in locations across the globe, including its headquarters in Cordoba, Argentina, and its branches in: Buenos Aires and Rosario, Argentina; São Paulo, Brazil; Santiago, Chile; Rosenheim, Germany; and Mexico City, Mexico.

Leveraging the Solution for Promedon

To set up this solution, Level 3 enhanced its bandwidth capabilities and added new configurations to the IP/MPLS links, providing high-speed data transmission and high definition digital voice and video on a single connection for each site. As part of this initiative, Level 3 installed terminal equipment rooms in each of Promedon’s branches, allowing for high definition digital video connections and software that can be installed on laptops, tablets and smartphones. This offers a variety of access possibilities for virtual video conference rooms, which receive 24/7 support from Level 3’s operational Video Network Operating Center (NOC) in the region. The solution also uses the technology supplied by Polycom.
