[Nice, France, June 4, 2015] Huawei showcased its Storage Consolidation Solution at the TeleManagement Forum (TMF) 2015 in Nice, France. Designed for telecom operators’ operational and maintenance support systems, this solution aims to help operators consolidate their storage systems and easily cope with challenges arising from the digital transformation process.
At present, operators’ storage systems face a variety of problems, including information silos, outdated devices, performance bottlenecks, as well as difficult capacity expansion and maintenance. To address these issues, Huawei released its Storage Consolidation Solution to help operators achieve the following:
Eliminate storage performance and capacity bottlenecks, improving service processing efficiency by 100% or more
Achieve linear improvement in capacity and performance as the number of controllers increases
Enable one storage system to centrally process multiple types of services, increasing the resource utilization rate to 70% and cutting of the time to market (TTM) by two thirds.
Virtualize the storage resources provided by different vendors into a resource pool, protecting customers’ investment and reducing the total cost of ownership by 20%.
With Huawei Storage Consolidation Solution, the previous information silos are replaced by shared resource pools, and operators ‘ longstanding sore points are relieved by measures like outdated storage system revamp, centralized management, and heterogeneous resource virtualization and reuse. With Huawei’s end-to-end service from consultation, to planning, to implementation, Huawei assists operators in fully utilizing their storage resources and succeeding in ICT transformation.
Huawei OceanStor Converged Storage is now serving more than 100 operator customers over the world, and is widely applied in such core service systems as transactions, charging, and analysis. The business successes of these customers demonstrate Huawei’s capability in helping operators with digital transformation.
