Global Colocation Solutions Provider CyrusOne Goes Green, Improves Security and Service with RapidEntry System

CyrusOne celebrates 25,000 ID scans on new entry system designed to facilitate customer check-in and security

DALLAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–

Global colocation solutions provider CyrusOne (CONE) is pleased to announce that it recently scanned its 25,000th ID badge using its new RapidEntry system. The ID scanning and visitor management system enables CyrusOne to validate its visitors’ and customers’ identification while ensuring the highest level of security compliance.

“As we continue our growth trajectory and strive for innovation, we are committed to maintaining the highest data center security standards possible. The RapidEntry system provides not only an added layer of security but also a heightened level of efficiency,” said Kevin Timmons, chief technology officer, CyrusOne. “As we work to reduce our carbon footprint, I am pleased to report that in a few short months this initiative has eliminated the need for hard-copy entry forms.”

This system eliminates the hard-copy paper forms visitors and customers formerly needed to fill out, reducing paper consumption, allowing for quicker visitor-related reports, and decreasing the overall amount of time for processing when visitors enter the data center.

Additionally, CyrusOne employees can pre-register visitors through an easy-to-use Web interface. To use the new system, visitors and customers simply use an available Apple iPad at the security desk, follow the instructions on the screen, provide a government-issued ID, and then follow the security officer’s instructions to receive a visitor badge. RapidEntry has been deployed at several CyrusOne locations throughout the United States.
