NTT Com Recognized for its Cloud-Based Disaster Recovery Services, Completeness of Vision and Execution
Tokyo – April 27, 2015 – NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), the information and communications technology (ICT) solutions business within NTT Group (NYSE:NTT, news, filings), today announced the company was recognized for its Cloud-Based Disaster Recovery services and positioned as a leader in the “Magic Quadrant for Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS)” report G00270861* issued by Gartner Inc., a leading information technology research and advisory company. NTT Com was evaluated for its Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision.
The Gartner Magic Quadrant is a globally recognized evaluation of service providers. In this inaugural Magic Quadrant for Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) report, Gartner evaluated the capabilities of a select set of DRaaS providers that have support for communication services, DR/BC recovery services, hosting and infrastructure as a service and direct cloud recovery. NTT Com was recognized for its ability to execute and completeness of vision in the report. We believe this recognition demonstrates the importance NTT Com places on DRaaS within the company’s overall Enterprise Cloud offering and feel it further cements its leadership position in cloud technology development and service for large scale enterprises.
“DRaaS is quickly becoming a highly diverse market evolving from a service that appealed mainly to small businesses to one that serves organizations of all sizes across all verticals, and NTT Communications is proud to be distinguished as a leader,” said Nayan Naik, Senior Director Product Strategy, NTT Communications. “However, despite industry progress, disaster preparedness is often overlooked leaving companies in a vulnerable position; a reality reaffirmed by NTT Com’s Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Readiness Survey. With our hybrid cloud-based DR solutions, we help companies identify their weaknesses and prepare them for any disaster event.”
NTT Com provides innovative solutions to improve the ICT environments of enterprise customers, including NTT Com’s Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) portfolio, which provides cloud-based services, including Cloud Recovery and Cloud Back-up, that serve as a key element of a company’s disaster recovery plan or provide a full solution allowing a business to operate as normal during planned or unplanned outages. NTT Com’s DRaaS offering also includes its Enterprise Cloud resources, and Disaster Recovery consulting services in addition to unlimited failover and recovery testing all with the goal to deliver each customer the best disaster recovery and business continuity program for their business. Through NTT Com’s dynamic and scalable Enterprise Cloud platform and one of the largest global data center footprints, customers are able to leverage NTT Com’s infrastructure in over 196 countries to deploy a robust and secure DRaaS program.
“Today, Gartner estimates the size of the DRaaS market to be approximately $1.3 billion, with a related compound annual growth rate of approximately 30%. By 2018, Gartner estimates that the size of the DRaaS market will exceed that of the market for more traditional subscription-based DR services.” According to the report, “wider adoption of DRaaS can be largely attributed to the proven viability of cloud-based solutions.” The full report and Magic Quadrant can be viewed here.
