Platinum sponsor CyrusOne supports growing Houston charity golf tournament to benefit STEM-based programs
DALLAS (April 22, 2015) – Global colocation solutions provider CyrusOne (:CONE, news) is pleased to announce it is the platinum sponsor for the second annual Houston CIO Charity Golf Tournament. Hosted by the Houston chapter of the Society for Information Management (SIM), Houston’s premier network for IT executives and thought leaders, the golf tournament takes place April 25 at the Golf Club of Houston. All proceeds help promote local STEM-based educational and nonprofit organizations.
“The CyrusOne team is very proud to be the top sponsor supporting this great tournament for a second year in a row,” said Scott Brueggeman, chief marketing officer, CyrusOne. “We owe much of our success in Houston to many of the companies and participants associated with the SIM golf tournament. CyrusOne works with a fantastic group of gifted IT professionals whose companies’ missions we support daily in our data centers, so we make it a top priority to pay it forward and invest in programs that support the advancement of the next generation of IT leaders.”
This year’s tournament welcomes two returning charitable organizations: Genesys Works, a not-for-profit organization that enables inner-city high school students to break through barriers and thrive through meaningful work experience, and the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP), an organization that seeks to advance the IT profession through professional development, support of IT education, and national policies.
SIM collects the intellectual capital of IT leaders nationwide and offers resources such as face-to-face meetings and networking, partnerships, online tools, publications, outreach opportunities, and scholarships that professionals need in order to do business better.
