Zayo Announces Dark Fiber Route from 800 Secaucus to Mahwah, NJ

BOULDER, Colo.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–

Zayo Group Holdings, Inc. (ZAYO), an international provider of Bandwidth Infrastructure services, today announced it will offer a new route from the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) data center at 1700 MacArthur Blvd. in Mahwah, New Jersey to the Equinix NY5 data center at 800 Secaucus Road, outside of New York City. The new route is anticipated to be 37.7 km and is expected to be completed during the second quarter of 2015.

The new route will be the shortest, lowest latency dark fiber route available between the NYSE data center and 800 Secaucus. The route will be Zayo’s second ultra-low-latency route to the NYSE Datacenter in Mahwah, and will provide an alternative to its recently completed 38.3 km route from 755 Secaucus. Both Mahwah routes connect to Zayo’s New Jersey/New York dark fiber network, which spans more than 500 route miles, and connects to Zayo’s global network which extends more than 82,000 route miles across the United States and Europe.

800 Secaucus serves a high concentration of financial services companies, including key trading platforms. Zayo’s new route will provide reliable, low latency connectivity to this extended network of financial services customers and support their critical trading needs. Customers on the new route have access to Zayo’s high-bandwidth solutions including metro dark fiber and wavelengths.

“The development of the new Mahwah route was driven by demand from financial services customers seeking a direct, premium route from the NYSE to 800 Secaucus given the increasing importance of this facility,” said Zach Nebergall, vice president of metro dark fiber at Zayo. “We look forward to building relationships with an extended customer base and providing the low-latency, reliable connectivity needed to support critical trading traffic and platforms.”
