[Barcelona, Spain, March 5, 2015] Huawei’s innovative CloudMall data center solution debuts at Mobile World Congress 2015 (MWC 2015).
MWC is one of the world’s largest and most influential telecommunication exhibitions, attracting the industry’s leading players each year. Huawei’s CloudMall solution helps operators construct a service-centric IDC network architecture that improves IDC resource utilization and the operation capability. In addition, the solution helps operators to develop new business models based on cloud services and improve their competitiveness in the cloud service industry chain.
Based on the software defined network (SDN) technology, the CloudMall solution is deployed at IDCs in three phases.
CloudMall1.0: Huawei provides the vDC service using the SDN+VxLAN Layer 2 virtualization technology. The vDC service integrates resources across data centers to improve the resource utilization.
CloudMall2.0: Huawei employs E2E Layer 2 private line technologies that enable enterprises’ private clouds to access operators’ public clouds. The interconnection of private and public clouds ensures that enterprise IT systems can evolve into clouds securely and cost-effectively.
CloudMall3.0: Based on cloud interconnection, cloud access, cloud management, and cloud application, Huawei enables cloud intercommunication among enterprise private clouds, operator public clouds, and third-party public clouds, and constructs a B2B cloud integration platform on which enterprise customers can choose cloud services as required.
The CloudMall solution has become an industry hot spot since February 2014, when Huawei and Telefonica jointly released the UNICA innovation solution at MWC 2014. Ever since, the CloudMall solution has been quickly developing and gradually deployed commercially. In April 2014, Huawei and Beijing Telecom successfully deployed the industry’s first SDN-based vDC network for commercial use. In September 2014, Huawei and China Unicom jointly announced the successful commercial deployment of Huawei’s vDC solution in the Wo Cloud project. In November of the same year, Huawei and Shanghai Telecom announced the commercial deployment of SDN hybrid clouds. To date, Huawei has commercially deployed the CloudMall solution with multiple global operators and maintains the leading position in SDN commercialization.
As an advocate of SDN and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), Huawei is committed to optimizing network architectures and developing future-ready SDN architectures, leading SDN commercialization and empowering the maturity of SDN technology in domains such as mobile backhaul, data centers, backbone networks, and smart metro networks. Huawei is ready for close cooperation with players in the end-to-end SDN industry chain covering technologies, standards, applications, products, and solutions, with the end goal of promoting the healthy development of the industry.
MWC 2015 takes place in Barcelona from March 2-5. Huawei will showcase its latest products and solutions at Fira Gran Via Hall 1 and Hall 3. For more information, please visithttp://www.huawei.com/minisite/mwc2015/en/index.html.
