Huawei Wins Best Mobile Infrastructure with its LampSite Solution at Mobile World Congress 2015

[Barcelona, Spain, March 3, 2015]: Huawei today announces that it wins Best Mobile Infrastructure Award at Mobile World Congress 2015 with its innovative LampSite solution.

In MBB era, the indoor coverage’s digitization has become the industry consensus. It can greatly reduce the cost of construction and maintenance of indoor coverage, continuing to enhance the mobile broadband experience. Along with the network operation shift its focus from voice to traffic, network architecture and user experiences become the key to strategy development for operators. The operator has recently completely the world’s largest indoor coverage in Beijing International Airport in China by deploying Huawei LampSite. The entire deployment took only three months and the total deployment cost decreased by 50% compared with that of a traditional deployment, the peak rate reaches 140 Mbps in the test, which can greatly improve terminal user experience. It is estimated that all the investments of the operator will be returned within two years. Up to now, Huawei’s LampSite solutions have been commercialized in more than 70 mobile operators that spread in Europe, South-east Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America.

The judges said: “This shows significant promise in helping mobile operators improve indoor mobile broadband coverage, quality and capacity, using small cell technology, in a CapEX friendly manner.”
