Shenzhen, China, February 4, 2015]: Huawei has ranked joint first for containerized data centers based on unit shipments worldwide with a global market share estimated at 11%, according to IHS Technology (IHS). Huawei’s Container Data Center (CDC) is an industry leader in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia Pacific (APAC) regions.
In its report titled “Containerized and Modular Data Centers”, IHS evaluated unit and revenue data from suppliers to the containerized and modular data center market over a six-month period. It focused on three main areas including, market drivers and trends; market statistics, variance and forecast; and competitive environment.
Today, Huawei CDC’s are becoming one of the fastest-growing products in its market segment, for commercial businesses application in a number of industries including telecommunications, education, business, health, and energy. Within these industries, Huawei provides a range of outdoor data center solutions for various scenarios and requirements including fast deployment, flexible assembly, high efficiency, high power density and limited space restrictions.
The Huawei containerized data center flagship products are the IDS1000-A all-in-one solution and IDS1000-C cluster solution. IDS1000-A is a highly integrated small-capacity container data center solution, combining all systems in a single container including power supply and distribution, cooling, IT cabinets, cabling, anti-fire, lightning protection and monitoring. The product is available in two sizes, 20 and 40 feet, and features high reliability and security. IDS1000-C is comprised of multiple containers and suitable for use by small, medium, and large data centers. It consists of four functional containers; IT, Power, Cooling, and Network Operations.
The IDS1000 series products have a professional thermal design and successfully passed thermal stimulation at temperatures ranging from -40OC to +55OC, and has strong adaptability to strict environment. Huawei IDS1000 helps customers build a green data center infrastructure which can be used for cost-effective cloud computing. The benefit for customers includes significantly reducing customer TCO (total cost of ownership) and improving ROI (return on investment).
The Huawei CDC solutions won the Blueprint award by Datacentre Dynamics in 2012 and Data Center Innovation of the Year award by Telecom Asia in 2014. Notable deployments for Huawei CDC’s include 47 containers by Norway telecom giant Telenor, five containers by Hunan Yongxing Wisdom City, four containers by the government of Ghana, and two containers by the Petroleo Brasilerio.
