ADTRAN’s Clint Coleman Inducted into the Alabama Engineering Hall of Fame for Shaping Telecommunications Industry

Engineering vice president and multiple patent recipient recognized for a career in leading successful breakthrough innovations that transformed global telecom industry

HUNTSVILLE, Ala.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Feb. 23, 2015– ADTRAN®, Inc., (NASDAQ:ADTN, news, filings), a leading provider of next-generation networking solutions, today announced that the State of Alabama Engineering Hall of Fame has inducted Clint Coleman, vice president of Carrier Networks Division Engineering, into its 2015 class. Inductees are individuals, corporations or projects that serve as pillars within the industry, contribute to the advancement of engineering and help inspire others to pursue technology fields. Coleman is recognized for his dedication to enhancing the telecom industry and for developing leading-edge solutions, enabling ADTRAN to become a global leader in the business access market.

A 27-year veteran of ADTRAN, Coleman plays a pivotal role in helping to develop ADTRAN’s carrier product lines and bringing solutions to market. JoiningADTRAN as a design engineer, Coleman was a charter member of the team responsible for developing the company’s first HDSL transceiver, upon which the HDSL product line is built. This major technology breakthrough transformed the telecom industry by enabling T-1 access to be widely used by nearly every business, government office and community anchor institution across the nation. The HDSL product line was the foundation and catalyst for ADTRAN’s growth in the 1990s. The company’s success expanded in the 2000s as it pioneered broadband access and networking solutions. Today, Coleman continues to steer the company’s engineering efforts with major industry breakthroughs in Gigabit networks that have resulted in ADTRAN becoming a top three global provider of solutions for these industries.

Coleman leads engineer design groups with over 400 global employees, as well as oversees products and services across the company, including broadband access, Carrier Ethernet and Optical Networking Edge solution. His leadership and knowledge ensures that ADTRAN engineering teams are continuing to provide best-in-class technology that address the increasing and evolving demands from new and existing global customers.
