NWN leveraged Bandwidth’s flexible APIs and nationwide network to win a series of public sector deals for its hosted voice and video solution
Raleigh, North Carolina – (BUSINESS WIRE) – January 14, 2015 – Bandwidth, one of the nation’s leading communications companies, today announced that the NWN Corporation is leveraging Bandwidth’s network and APIs to expand its unified communications (UC) voice services, resulting in a series of new deals in the public sector.
Many school districts, municipal offices and state government agencies are challenged with modernizing their voice and collaboration technology with tight budgets and constrained procurement processes. The NWN-Bandwidth partnership provides a converged VoIP solution using Cisco technology hosted by NWN. It includes a broad range of unified communications (UC) capabilities via a flexible pay-by-the-device service model. The end result is an easy-to-use, cost-effective and modernized voice, messaging and video collaboration platform, providing public sector organizations an affordable UC option.
Due to its proven technology, agility and flexible approach, Bandwidth has become a preferred provider of UC voice for a number of NWN government contracts. NWN began working with Bandwidth SIP trunking solutions following its own implementation, where it increased network capacity and performance while cutting costs in half.
Working together, NWN and Bandwidth have provided a number of California school districts with hundreds of SIP trunks, replacing major incumbent carriers.
“NWN is a provider that recognizes how best to compete in an environment with large and diverse carriers,” said Steve Leonard, EVP and General Manager at Bandwidth. “We are proud to help NWN diversify its portfolio of services, in a manner that allows them to provide quality technology, quickly and effectively.”
“Bandwidth has helped us improve our service levels for voice offerings, for half the cost we’ve paid historically,” said Matthew Nieman, vice president of contracts, NWN. “Experiencing the benefits of SIP firsthand has helped us approach a market that’s critical to the success of our business, making us more competitive and securing new deals.”
