In Its Third Year of Operation, the Center Continues to Grow Dynamically, including the Addition of a Network Operations Center, One of Three Such Sites Globally
KRAKOW, Poland – January 22, 2015 – Cisco today announced the next phase of its investment at the Cisco® Global Services Center in Krakow, including an expansion of the area and the opening of a Network Operations Center, one of three such sites globally.
Cisco Global Services Center in Krakow provides technical and business services to customers, partners and Cisco employees across multiple functional groups, including Consulting and Technical Services, Cloud and Managed Services, Finance, IT, and Global Business Services. The center is part of a network of operations located around the globe and focuses on Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia (EMEAR). Currently it employs more than 500 people.
One of the new functions settling in Krakow is a Network Operations Center (NOC) that is part of the Cisco Cloud and Managed Services organization. Cisco engineers at the NOC can proactively monitor the condition and status of customers’ networks and software infrastructures and immediately respond to any detected issues.
Cisco customers served by the NOC include leading European and global telco operators, insurance and finance institutions, as well as consumer goods companies – most of them operating on a global scale. Cisco currently has three such centers worldwide, located in strategic geographies. Next to Krakow, Poland, there is an NOC in the USA and one in India. This set-up allows Cisco to provide a 24/7 service for key customers, regardless of their time zone.
“The Cisco Global Services Center in Krakow plays a key role in our global strategy to serve customers, partners and internal stakeholders in EMEAR and beyond. Since its inception, the team in Krakow has surpassed our expectations in their ability to attract talent, as well as the quality of the services delivered and customer satisfaction they have achieved. As we expand the site with new functions, we are excited to be creating employment opportunities for engineering and business professionals, while contributing to the knowledge economy in Poland,” said Olivier Kohler, Chief Administration Officer and Senior Vice President, Cisco Global Business Services.
