BOULDER, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Zayo Group Holdings, Inc. (ZAYO), a global provider of Bandwidth Infrastructure services, today announced the deployment of turnkey small cell sites in Indianapolis. The first of the sites are on-air, and more than 100 additional site installations are currently in progress and expected to be completed by the middle of 2015.
As data demands on mobile networks continue to increase, Zayo’s turnkey small cell solutions bring 4G LTE network speeds closer to the end-user, enabling wireless carriers to better use existing spectrum. The result for wireless customers is enhanced mobile coverage, capacity, and speed in high-usage areas. Zayo’s turnkey deployments include site acquisition, node development and installation, and fiber backhaul, simplifying the process for wireless carriers. The majority of Indianapolis sites are installed on a Zayo-owned, standalone vertical structure, easing deployment for additional tenants via colocation and enabling future network densification.
“Zayo’s extensive fiber-optic network, existing relationships, and expertise in deploying small cell solutions across the U.S. enables us to provide the comprehensive solutions our customers need to meet growing data demands,” said Jacob Fuller, senior director of small cell at Zayo. “We’ve built relationships with municipalities in the area and continue to build mutually beneficial relationships with additional municipalities across the country.”
Zayo continues to gain traction in the small cell space across the U.S. with installations in progress in 12 markets including Indianapolis, Louisville, Ky., Minneapolis, Grand Rapids, Mich., Phoenix, Portland, Las Vegas, San Francisco Bay Area, Houston, Baltimore, Nashville, Tenn., and Chicago.
