117,000 PHONE CALLS RECEIVED IN 2013 AND EVEN MORE EXPECTED IN 2014

(NYSE:LVLT, news, filings) will assist the NORAD Tracks Santa program during the 2014 holiday season by providing voice services to the Peterson Air Force Base and North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). NORAD hosts an annual mission to track Santa Claus as he journeys across the globe to deliver presents on December 24.
The popular program is centered on a live operations center manned by 1,250 volunteers, named Santa Trackers, who answer phone calls and emails from children around the world. TheColorado Springs, Colorado-based center receives around 117,000 phone calls annually from children asking the whereabouts of Santa. Level 3’s voice services provide secure and redundant support for the high volume of communications.

Beginning at 12:01 a.m. MT/2:01 a.m. ET on December 24, families can watch Santa make preparations for his flight. At 4:01 a.m. MT/6:01 a.m. ET, the NORAD Tracks Santa operations center goes live and people can call toll-free +1 877-446-6723 or email noradtrackssanta@outlook.com to inquire about Santa’s location. The website provides information in eight languages – English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese and Chinese.
In addition, official NORAD Tracks Santa apps are available on smart phones and tablets to count down the days until Santa’s launch. Tracking opportunities are offered on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Google+. Santa followers just need to type “@noradsanta” into each search engine to get started.
