Ericsson and XL Axiata receive award for improving customer satisfaction

  • The award is given in the Urban Improvement category, as part of the Telecoms.com Award 2014 in London.
  • The award recognizes Ericsson’s leadership and commitment to support XL Axiata to provide superior network performance and user experience

Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC, news, filings) and XL Axiata (XL) have been awarded a Telecoms.com Award 2014 in the Urban Improvement category in London. The award is given to both operators and vendors that have run projects to improve network performance in urban areas in the past 12 months.

Improved network performance is vital to ensure subscriber loyalty among smartphone users, and provides operators with a significant competitive advantage. Ericsson and XL worked together to deliver the best possible mobile experience to users in Central Java, Indonesia. The network overhaul led to improved network performance, end-user experience and customer loyalty. The partnership also saw coverage improvements of 60% and network quality improvements of 50%. This without increasing the number of sites.

Hasnul Suhaimi, Chief Executive Officer XL Axiata says: “This partnership with Ericsson demonstrates XL’s commitment to deliver a consistently good user experience, end-to-end connectivity and superior network performance. We are growing our market share and aim to increase customer satisfaction.”

”The telecommunication industry in Indonesia has grown rapidly with penetration already reaching 120 percent. This mature market and savvy customers demand higher service standards. By improving performance and coverage, we believe end-users will remain loyal and this will have a positive impact on operator revenue.” Suhaimi added.

Thomas Jul, President Director of Ericsson Indonesia, says,” We are proud to win this award together with XL Axiata. This award demonstrates our leadership and commitment to support XL to provide a superior network. By focusing on network performance, operators can serve their customers better. Ericsson is ideally positioned to enable operators to increase customer loyalty and satisfaction.”

“This project not only contributed to improved service quality and increased end-user satisfaction as measured by XL, but also meant reduced OPEX for XL and less energy consumption for the overall network,” added Jul.
