New York, December 11, 2014 – Seattle-based Sabey Data Center Properties announced today that EarthLink (NASDAQ:ELNK, news, filings), a leading managed network and cloud solutions provider for multi-location businesses, has signed a licensing agreement to provide its services to existing and future tenants at Intergate.Manhattan, Sabey’s new data center at 375 Pearl Street in lower Manhattan.
EarthLink has access into the South point of entry (POE) of Intergate.Manhattan and will have the ability to interconnect with the data center’s multiple carriers in an Open-IX environment, saving dollars on monthly cross-connect fees. EarthLink will also have the ability to connect to the Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX) and the German Internet Exchange (DE-CIX), also based at Intergate.Manhattan.
In addition, it was announced that EarthLink is now expanding its New York City fiber optic communications ring network to incorporate Intergate.Manhattan and its on-site carrier customers. This new metro ring will connect 60 Hudson to 111 8th Ave, 32 Avenue of Americas, 325 Hudson, 85 10th and 375 Pearl. Each location has dual entrances. EarthLink has turned up service to each of these locations and is currently accepting orders.
John Sabey, President, Sabey Data Center Properties, said, “EarthLink was attracted to Intergate.Manhattan by the opportunity to serve carrier customers like Windstream and our future telecom tenants. As more carriers select 375 Pearl Street for their network operations, more carriers like EarthLink will come.”
Earthlink Carrier® continues to expand its network to key data centers, leveraging unique, low latency routes across much of the Eastern and Central US. Many of these routes are built with partner networks, including utility companies, using exclusive ROWs. EarthLink offers a concentration of key telecommunication locations including multi-tenant buildings and carrier hotels for customers to interconnect. Many express routes across the network are capable of delivering up to multiple terabytes of capacity.
To date, the fiber optic network carriers who have signed licensing agreements with Sabey at Intergate.Manhattan include, in addition to EarthLink: Zayo, Sidera, Lightower, Verizon, Level 3, Lightpath, Optical Communications Group (OCG), United Fiber & Data, Time Warner Cable and XO. Together, they will offer Intergate.Manhattan’s tenants a full suite of facilities-based services including dark fiber, lit transport and IP services, and carrier-neutral colocation and interconnection, Ethernet, SONET, wavelength, Internet access, and more.
