Huawei Demonstrates Its Leading Network Functions Virtualization Solution at Broadband World Forum 2014

[Amsterdam, Netherlands, October 21, 2014]: Huawei today announced that it will introduce its latest Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) progress and showcase how its unified ICT orchestration management system can help improve the whole network efficiency including multiple tenant, network design, network deployment, dynamic scaling, service and capacity forecast and unified troubleshooting. The showcase will take place at the 14th Annual Broadband World Forum 2014, taking place on the 21st – 23rd October 2014 at the Amsterdam RAI.

NFV is well known by the industry for hardware and software decoupling, standardized hardware platform, resource sharing, dynamic resource scheduling to reduce overall total cost of ownership and shorten time to market for carriers. Huawei has a full range of NFV solutions including infrastructure, Cloud OS (Operating System) and cloud-aware applications. The solution is open to multiple partners as demonstrated in successful Proof of Concepts (PoC) and joint innovation projects with leading operators across the globe. Huawei is the main contributor in the ETSI ISG NFV standardization with ranking the first contributions and co-chairperson position of Architecture of the Virtualization Infrastructure Working Group. Huawei was also chosen as the preferred NFV vendor according to the Current Analysis survey report.

Huawei NFV based Cloud IMS solution was awarded the “most innovative virtualized IMS solution” at the IMS World Forum 2014 for its great contributions for standardization, PoC progress and its complete telecom over cloud portfolio. Huawei has deployed the industry first Cloud based VoLTE solution with a leading operator ensuring full openness, carrier-grade availability and easy operations.

“Huawei has been the Core Network leader and is now leading the NFV trend by shaping the industry architecture, delivery and operations of NFV environments”, said Yumin Mao, Vice President, Core Network, Huawei. He added, “since we released the first cloud-based core network strategy and roadmap, Huawei has always timely executed and delivered for its customers.
