Enhancements include nationwide coverage, customer portal for performance management
NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–
Time Warner Cable Business Class (TWCBC) today announced significant enhancements to its Ethernet Services portfolio, to target mid-market and enterprise customers with business locations spread across the US. These enhancements come on the heels of other major product updates this year which includes Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) certification for all eight CE 2.0 service configurations, enhanced SLAs that now include latency, jitter and packet loss to improve customer satisfaction and service and a Managed Ethernet offering through bundled Ethernet Services with the Managed Router Service from TWCBC.
Today, TWCBC has a 150,000-fiber-route-mile network infrastructure that currently serves 31 major metro markets nationwide with more than 80,000 fiber-lit buildings, 835,000 DOCSIS-equipped buildings and connectivity into 64 data centers across the nation. This network will be complemented with last mile access from over 25 alternate access service providers through 130 External Network-to-Network Interface (ENNI) locations already in place.
“Today’s announcement from Time Warner Cable Business Class is great news for mid-market and enterprise organizations with multiple locations across the United States,” said Nav Chander, Research Manager, Enterprise telecom at IDC. “As businesses grow and expand they want to know that their voice, video and data are secure and available. A key differentiator for the TWCBC solution is a new customer management portal that puts the power in the hands of the customer and gives them the ability to view their networks overall performance. This feature will be vital as customers become more knowledgeable about the technology behind their business in helping them to manage what they need.”
Key enhancements to the Time Warner Cable Business Class Ethernet Services include:
- Nationwide coverage: Service coverage coast to coast leveraging TWC’s backbone network and last mile access from alternate providers for servicing out of footprint locations. Single bill and point of contact for customer care.
- Customer management portal: Customers will have access to a secure, password-protected web portal, to view circuit level performance metrics. Additionally, customers can run performance reports to get a historical view of their circuit performance.
- Flexibility and scalability: Increased number of speed tiers, delivered over Hybrid Fiber-Coax (HFC) for 512k – 10 Mbps and Fiber for 5Mbps – 10Gbps, based on network availability.
- Managed Ethernet Services: Customers can opt to offload network management (WAN/LAN) when Ethernet service is purchased with TWCBC’s Managed Router Services offering.
“These new enhancements to our Ethernet Service portfolio further demonstrate our commitment to provide reliable, scalable, and standards-compliant network solutions to mid-market and enterprise customers, particularly those with geographically dispersed locations, “ says Greg King, Senior Vice President, Chief Product & Strategy Officer, Time Warner Cable Business Class. “We’ve taken our tremendously attractive Metro Ethernet solution and made it better. By combining our robust Metro networks with our national backbone and third-party partner networks, we are giving large businesses another choice when selecting a service provider for their national networks.”
