Connects Campus With More Than 1,750 Phones While Boosting Security
OTTAWA, Sept. 25, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- When Illinois Wesleyan University decided to upgrade its communications system, it knew it wanted to migrate to the cloud. After a thorough evaluation of providers, the nationally regarded liberal arts college selected Mitel(R) (MITL) (MNW.TO) and its partner Frontier Communications (FTR).
"We faced a significant upgrade when our existing communications platform was discontinued by the vendor. This provided an ideal opportunity to move communications to the cloud. When our existing vendor was unable to provide a suitable cloud solution we began a rigorous assessment of our options. With a six-month plan for deployment, the Mitel solution was fully up and running in just two months. The solution includes 875 cloud phones and 900 analog phones in place for security reasons to operate when power is not available. The system connects 450 full-time or 600 full and part-time faculty and staff, plus 1,900 students. Feedback on the new solution has been overwhelmingly positive.
