As a leading global ICT solutions provider, Huawei has put in place a professional supply chain management system, which is constantly optimized. Mr. Xu noted, “Huawei has a significant supply chain. We believe that stable and healthy development of the supply chain is the key to the sustainability of the entire industry chain. Huawei, our customers, suppliers, and the suppliers’ suppliers form an ecosystem together. This ecosystem can only be healthy when every part of it is healthy. Hence, Huawei not only works hard to achieve sustainability but also works together with suppliers to improve their management and capability around sustainability. As an important part of our strategy, we incorporate environmental protection requirements into our end-to-end processes and further into the supply chain by sharing our understanding and experience with the ecosystem partners. We firmly believe that environmental protection can boost business innovation, reinforce competitive positions, and reshape traditional industries and mindsets. Therefore, we encourage suppliers to go beyond customer-driven compliance and risk management and embed sustainability as a basic ingredient into the business in strategy, operations and end-to-end lifecycle management. We call for deep collaboration from suppliers to explore innovation opportunities, develop new products, penetrate new markets, experiment new business models and improve business efficiency. When combined, these initiatives will go a long way in promoting sustainability across the industry chain.”
