Parrot Minidrones: Prepare for takeoff

Sprint is offering its customers a new way to enjoy their devices.

Beginning Friday, Aug. 1, two Parrot Minidrones – Rolling Spider for $99.99 and Jumping Sumo for $159.99 (plus tax) – will be available in Sprint direct ship sales channels, including Sprint Stores, Web Sales and Telesales at 1-800-SPRINT1. Both minidrones will land in Sprint Stores beginning Friday, Aug. 15.

For more information, visit www.sprint.com/minidrones.

You can pilot either minidrone with select smartphones or tablets using the Free Flight 3 iOS or Android app.

Rolling Spider
With numerous sensors and autopilot, Rolling Spider is easy to maneuver. Tilt your device to the right or left, and the Rolling Spider mimics your movements. Push the landing button to start the automatic landing procedure.

Rolling Spider can be equipped with two ultralight wheels. Once the wheels are fixed on its back, the drone can race on the ground, climb a wall and continue to the ceiling.

A vertical camera (60fps) positioned under its fuselage helps stabilize Rolling Spider during flights, enabling it to take snapshots recorded on 1GB flash memory. The snapshots can be transferred to a computer with the embedded micro-USB connector and shared through the Drone Academy.

Rolling Spider is available in red, blue and white and comes with 12 stickers for a customized look.

Jumping Sumo
This responsive rover rolls, rushes, zigzags, circles, takes turns at 90 degrees and jumps up to 80 centimeters in height and length. It has a wide-angle camera that can take pictures and videos, which can be stored on a micro-USB stick or streamed live on the screen of the piloting smartphone or tablet.

Jumping Sumo is available in three color schemes: black and red, white and black, and khaki and yellow. It comes with three stickers.

Both drones work with a rechargeable 550mAH lithium polymer battery.
