BTI's Cloud Networking Solution Will Drive Interxion's Service for Customers Requiring High-Performance Connectivity to Multiple Cloud Providers
OTTAWA and BOSTON - July 15, 2014
BTI Systems, an award-winning provider of cloud and metro networking software and systems to content, colocation and service providers around the world, today announced that Interxion (NYSE:INXN, news) has chosen BTI’s Cloud Networking Solution for its Cloud Connect platform, a new service for enterprise and service provider customers (seeInterxion’s announcement today). The initial deployments will be in London, Frankfurt and Amsterdam with eight other markets to follow. Additionally, Interxion chose BTI to provide operations and maintenance support.
Interxion is a leading Pan-European provider of cloud and carrier-neutral colocation data center services. With more than 1,400 customers through 37 data centers across 11 countries, Interxion provides enterprises with access to mission-critical applications and content for end consumers, with excellent response time and performance. Interxion’s data centers host the latest technology solutions, while conserving space, power and cooling with reliability and performance that goes beyond industry standards.
“As one of Europe’s leading colocation providers, it is vital that we provide our customers with direct, high-performance, low-latency connectivity to the major cloud providers,” said Interxion’s Vice President, Product Management and Channel Development, Mario Galvez. “Our Cloud Connect platform, which we will launch this summer, will enable high-speed connectivity to multiple cloud providers with faster provisioning and the highest levels of security. BTI has provided us with a ‘one-stop’ approach combining: a high-density, SDN-enabled converged packet optical platform; a software control layer with open APIs to enable customer self-service portals; and a customized technical and support plan. BTI’s Cloud Networking Solution also offers us a clear migration path to high-layer intelligence and 100G capacity.”
Colocation providers are increasingly tapping into the massive cloud market opportunity. Enterprises across all industries are turning to the cloud to improve service velocity and reach, and manage costs. With multiple cloud services available, colocation providers, such as Interxion, have recognized they have to provide high-bandwidth, low-latency cloud connections to multiple cloud providers that bypass the public Internet. BTI’s Cloud Networking Solution enables colocation providers to deliver value-added cloud connectivity services to enterprises, combining the economics and service velocity of public clouds with the performance, reliability and security of private connections. Additionally, BTI’s Cloud Networking Solution is ideal for hybrid cloud deployments, enabling enterprises to instantiate private clouds inside the colocation data center and leverage a public cloud provider for overflow, business continuity, backup or sandbox development.
“Interxion’s strong growth is reflected in their rapid expansion of data centers across Europe and a robust customer base,” said BTI’s Senior Vice President, Global Marketing, Sally Bament. “By choosing our open, programmable Cloud Networking Solution they have a clear competitive advantage with a network offering maximum scalability, flexibility and simplicity. One of the features supported through our Cloud Networking Solution is Interxion’s customer self-service portal, which sets up cloud connections and adjusts bandwidth to satisfy customer demands and application requirements. We are pleased that Interxion additionally chose BTI to operate and to help support their Cloud Connect platform, a trust we take seriously and will ensure the highest performance and reliability they demand and deserve.”
Interxion’s Cloud Connect leverages BTI’s Cloud Networking Solution, which includes BTI’s SDN-enabled packet optical platforms as well as the BTI proNX Control Software and SLA Portal. The BTI packet optical networking systems are purpose-built to unify packet and optical service delivery into one platform for network-layer consolidation, integrating MEF Carrier Ethernet compliant switching, a scalable 10G to 100G Coherent WDM optical layer and 4 Degree ROADM Dynamic Optical Layer to simplify network deployment and operations.
BTI’s proNX Control Software provides secure and flexible end-to-end management of the network and enables seamless integration with Interxion’s self-service portal through open APIs, allowing the flexibility for customers to customize services to suit their needs. Additionally, the BTI proNX SLA Portal supports SLA monitoring in a highly simplified manner, while still providing extensive tracking, monitoring and reporting capabilities. It enables access to SLA data for end-to-end service assurance.
BTI’s ServiceLink Services offer Interxion the opportunity to outsource the management of the Cloud Connect platform from the same company that supplies the networking solutions. BTI’s ServiceLink portfolio offers customizable suites of services including Operational Network Services, Network Deployment Services, Network Engineering Services and Training Services. Interxion’s support includes Layer 2 service provisioning, spares management and first-line maintenance.
