TeliaSonera International Carrier (TSIC) is upgrading its pan-European part of its global fiber network with a new scalable and flexible converged optical platform enabling a rapid deployment of seamless, highly resilient 1-100G optical services to service provider customers.
As a result, those service providers can meet their end-users’ increasing demands for network capacity to facilitate cloud computing, mobile broadband and the continued rise of bandwidth-hungry applications. Leading network specialists Ciena have been chosen for the Pan-European OTN overlay network while Infinera have upgraded TSIC´s network in the U.S.
“We´re continuously upgrading our network in order to facilitating existing as well as future mission critical solutions for operators and content providers. Creating a more scalable as well as flexible network is not only about meeting the bandwidth demands of today but also ensures the bandwidth demands of tomorrow,” says Mattias Fridström, Vice President Technology in TeliaSonera International Carrier.
Recognised as the industry’s Best Global Optical Service Provider 2012 and 2013 by IRR telecom Next Generation Network WDM Awards and also ranked one of the top two global IP backbone providers by Internet intelligence authority Renesys. TSIC owns and operates its 100G-enabled, award-winning fiber network with 200 PoPs worldwide undergoing continuous network expansion and development.
