[Amsterdam, the Netherlands, June 27, 2014]: Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, was today presented with the “Best LTE Traffic Management Product” award for its SingleSON solution at the 2014 LTE World Summit. This award recognizes Huawei’s continued contributions to the development of Self-Organizing Networks (SON) industry.
With the increasing demand from operators to simplify operations and maintenance, SON has become an important strategic choice for operators to realize automatic O&M and reduce operating expenses.
Since Huawei successful completed the world’s first Automatic Neighbor Relation (ANR) test in 2009, it has continued to contribute to the development of SON. In 2011, Huawei released its SingleSON solution, which supports multi-RAT and multi-layer, which now also supports multi-vendors. In 2012, Huawei was the first vendor to commercialize LTE SON in the industry.
Managing the traffic in a mobile network is a key for reducing congestion and enhancing user experience. Through Coverage and Capacity Optimization (CCO) and Mobile Load Balance (MLB) features, SingleSON will help in reducing network congestion by up to 50% and hence improving cell throughput and the overall network efficiency.
Mr. Jiangwangcheng, President of Huawei Wireless SingleOSS Product Line, said: “As we continue to develop our SingleSON solution, Huawei remains steadfast in its aim to enable operators to simplify operations and maintenance. We are thrilled to receive this award, and remain committed to ensuring SingleSON continues to develop as a competitive and innovative solution that meets the requirements of operators for network automatic O&M.”
