State and local government agencies across Colorado, including school districts, colleges and universities and public safety agencies, now have access to Verizon Enterprise Solutions’ leading portfolio of cloud computing and data center services. The Statewide Internet Portal Authority (SIPA), a self-funded government organization that serves as Colorado’s comprehensive delivery channel for e-government services, is teaming with Verizon to resell the company’s advanced IT services, enabling Colorado government  organizations to effectively manage data and applications, and scale services quickly, efficiently, and securely, as well as improve business continuity and disaster recovery operations.

“Governments are as complex as any private enterprise,” said John D. Conley, executive director of SIPA.  “Access to the same IT resources is essential to meeting the requirements of state employees as they deliver services to the residents of Colorado.  Verizon’s portfolio of cloud and data center services offers the enterprise-class functionality, scalability and security that will help government organizations across the state get the job done.”

The following Verizon services will be available to government and education organizations across the State of Colorado.

  • Enterprise Cloud: A managed computing platform that combines the power and flexibility of infrastructure-as-a-service with the expertise, security and availability that large organizations with mission-critical computing needs require.  Verizon offers public, private and hybrid cloud computing solutions.
  • Managed Hosting: Housed in environments that provide high levels of physical security, power, environmental and control systems, Verizon’s managed hosting services offer the flexibility to meet varying compute demands of high performance application and eliminate the problem of underutilized, over engineered, and rapidly aging dedicated servers.
  • Colocation: Scalable service that offers the ability to upgrade space and connectivity as requirements evolve, while helping to reduce capital costs and control operational expenses required to house and protect mission-critical applications and systems. Several Verizon data centers across the U.S. feature carrier-neutral options.

The Verizon services are delivered out of company owned and operated data centers strategically located around the U.S.  Designed with high levels of security and resiliency, these facilities feature massive connectivity and capacity purpose-built to house mission-critical applications for organizations on a global scale.  They also offer service level agreements for 100 percent power and cooling availability, as well as integrated security and monitoring capabilities.
